Every Valentine’s Day my students come in and work hard for the first 20 minutes of the session, and for the remaining 10 we have a “speech party social.” I bring in special treats to snack on, and we all practice our social skills by initiating conversations with various topics, commenting and asking questions appropriately, and using transitions into new topics.
