In each section there are pre-made lessons to chose from, as well as, the option to make your own lesson! To create your own lesson just click the Add Lesson button and start typing. It really is that easy. I really liked the pre-made lessons. They were applicable to my students and the graphics matched the stories very well. The graphics were also very well detailed without being distracting.
Each lesson has a short story to create the scenario. After you have read the story to your students click Start to begin answering the corresponding questions.
The questions are multiple choice which was awesome for my kids. You do have the option of creating your own questions and answers as well.
After the student has selected as answer they will if it was correct or incorrect. No matter the response you will always be given the choice to review the question or move to the next one.
After all the questions have been answered you will see how well the student did by how many stars are filled in.
After Thoughts
This app has fantastic social scenes that truly applied to my students’ daily life. I really liked the ability to create my own scenarios and quizzes. This allowed me to tailor the app to my students areas of difficulty. I could add pictures from their classroom, hallway, cafeteria, etc., whatever area they were having difficulty in. Having the specific pictures makes the lesson more relatable. I loved how the questions were in a multiple choice formate and that there was the option to review them after an answer had been selected. Sometimes my students will chose an answer and when it is correct, it automatically moves forward instead of giving us the chance to discuss it. The lessons fit very well with the Social Thinking curriculum too. It was great to have have new stories to talk about and practice their skills with.
To add Let’ Be Social to your speech room you can visit iTunes, it’s just $14.99
This app was provided to me to complete this review, no other compensation was provided. The thoughts and opinions are my own.
