I love doing crafts in speech and when I saw this idea on Pinterest I knew that this would definitely be happening in my speech room in the fall. Synonyms rolls, just name sounds fun and tasty! The way I was thinking of using it would be to have students select a card from one of the synonym activities I have, then, write the word and its synonym on the roll following the spiral until their roll is filled. When they are done, they may color it brown and glue it on to a piece of tin foil to look like a baking sheet. The awesome part of this activity is that students can easily create several rolls in a session, ensuring plenty of practice 🙂
Here is a ‘synonym roll’ activity that would be great to do before the activity as a warm/up intro. It is has matching rolls and a worksheet. The worksheet could also be sent home for homework too! Click here to grab it.
Here is a template for some synonym rolls. Click here to download it.

Love this idea! (And of course, one can discuss the difference between cinnamon and synonym, too).
(By the way – I couldn’t figure out how to post a comment – at least on my computer, there is no contrast between the white background, and the boxes you type in. Not sure if other people have the same issue)>
Hmm I will look into the contrast issue. Thanks for commenting 🙂
