Apps are great therapy tools. They are fun and engaging for students and a lot quicker to clean up than board games. So when a classic game becomes an app I am all for it!
The Bag Game by All 4 My Child is can be used to help target answering WH-questions as well as describing. Just pic and object and tap Hide. The students take turns guessing what the object in the bag is by asking questions. There are even question prompts on the side if they get stuck 🙂
Next there is The Talking Train, also by All 4 My Child. No, this doesn’t take a classic game and turn it into an app but it is great for those little ones who need need to work on expressive language and need visuals.
You can import a picture onto each train car. There are pictures that come with the app, but you can import your own and even let your kiddos draw a picture! Once you have the pictures you want ( you can add cars if you need more pictures ), your kiddos can describe the action sequence, tell a story, state a sentence, etc.
When they are done with their task just tap GO! and the train with starting chugging down the tracks.
Not only are these apps cute and fun, but crazy affordable! You can find them both on iTunes for just $1.99!
