While looking on Pinterest ( Just FYI, I looooove Pinterest! ) I came across this book, ‘Speech Class Rules‘ by Ronda M. Wojcicki M.S., CCC-SLP. It looked interesting so I hopped over to Amazon and checked out the reviews. They were helpful to gauge the books usefulness, it got 5 stars. Here is a great review of the book I found that goes more into the context of the story. This is what I learned.

This book is about girl who is waiting to give a speech and her ‘speech class’ graduation. This story covers the types of students who attend speech therapy, insights into the goings on in a speech room, and even touches on the feelings that students who first start speech therapy may be facing. After reading reviews and summaries this story would be wonderful for SLPs, parents, students, and teachers. It can be a great way to helpful introduce new students and current students to the expectations and events of speech therapy. For parents and teachers it would help to answer some of their questions and perhaps give some insight into how to prepare their child/student for speech therapy. We did not have this in my school library but I might have to add it to my wishlist 🙂
