Resource Library

I was looking around the web today for some technology resources for my kids and I wanted to share with you two of my favorites.

The first one is for more Jr High and High School students working on pragmatics, specifically sarcasm and satire. Which we know, tweens and teens are pros at. This caught my eye because it highlighted one of my favorite shows, ‘The Big Bang Theory’. If you haven’t seen it definitely check it out, it is hysterical! This packet on TpT has youtube clips of the show for the student to use as examples and to identify sarcasm.
Is That Sarcasm? Including Irony, Satire, and Parody   Sorry the picture is fuzzy. Click here to get more info from the store.

The second activity I came across is an interactive online activity for listening comprehension. There are three games to choose from: Questioning Cube, Making Connections, and Detective’s Notebook.  These games provide short stories for students and then multiple choices for responses. I really liked that the stories and responses were read to the students.
