When I was little I had the game Simon. For you children of the 80’s and 90’s you may remember this game. For some others, here is a brief description. Simon was a disk, a bit larger than a salad plate, with colored sections that would light up. Simon would produce a light pattern and you would have to repeat it to keep playing. My description really didn’t do it justice, it was fun, I swear. I came across an app the other day that is pretty much the app version of Simon! I was probably way more excited this than I should have been. I downloaded right away 🙂 This is great reinforcement game for STUDENTS AND ADULTS with memory goals. I work part time in a medical setting and when I find something fun that I can use with both groups I consider it a big win.
The app is called Memory Block and its FREE!! It follows the same premise as Simon, a light pattern is shown and must be repeated. As you get more patterns correct the speed at which the patterns are shown increases. My kids really enjoyed this game. I used it today as a reward for a student who had been working on memory goals during our session. He was having a great time with it. I don’t think he even realized he was still working on his memory.
