One way is to involve classroom teachers in the intervention and it can be done in such an easy way.⁣-⁣I have found the most effective way to be sharing the visual icons I use for narrative language with the teacher for them to use with the class and even doing a mini lesson with the class on how to use them⁣

This principle is I feel is one that is the biggest wins to using narrative language intervention within literacy-based therapy. We are also asked to do more with less but this ends up stressing us out and making us feel like failures. This is a way to get a lot of bang for your buck without adding stress to your plate.⁣⁣

Storytelling is a very demanding task for students with language disabilities. Combining visuals/icons for the parts of the story ( the most popular method ) helps students learn cognitive schema. ⁣
-⁣There are many options out there so it is important to figure out what is going to work best for your students. I ended up creating a variation of my own to fit my student’s needs.
