Most of the time it happens because we are nervous to get as specific as we need, so we over compensate. If you have to start exposing the goal to someone it isn’t specific enough!

Be sure you’re using a framework, like my BSMART structure.

Our kids are working in narrative language because it did not develop as it should have. They will need visual representation of these pieces in order to start attaching information.

The ’How to Catch’ books are some of my favorites to work on Attempt and Reaction narrative elements.

These are the icons I use with my kids ( who helped me create them ). They are included in each Story Sidekick.

Just wanted to toss out this reminder since I get a lot of questions about how to write goals for narratives and literacy.⁣

You need to write the goal for the skill the child needs, not the method you intend to use. Pretty much any goal can be targeted using a narrative/literacy-based approach so don't stress about 'how to make it fit a narrative approach'. ⁣
