Things have changed fast thanks to COVID-19. SLPs continue to do what we SLPs do best, roll with it. This means putting together packets for families, assigning digital materials to Google Classrooms, and planning for teletherapy sessions. With this new style of therapy, I can’t run to the copier ( pray that it wasn’t jammed ) and copy the handful of pages I was going to need for a group. This means digitally pulling out the pages from a packet and emailing those or uploading those me students.
If you are in the same boat and had no idea how to do that before no worries, I’ve got the steps lined out for you.
STEP ONE
Find the PDF you want and right click to choose OPEN WITH and then PREVIEW.
STEP TWO
After you open with preview, skim through and find the pages that you are going to need click ‘print’
STEP THREE
Enter in the pages you want to save and save as PDF.
STEP FOUR
You may be prompted to ‘save’ under a different file name. You might want to label it with the specific student, group, or grade level you had in mind to make things easier. If you are working on putting together of different PDFs to send to families, then make a New Folder on your desktop, give it a jazzy name, and save the pages to that folder as you make them. Just be sure to zip/compress the folder before you email it.
If this doesn’t work for you, trying repeating the ‘Right Click, Open Preview’ step but open with Google Chrome.

Wow such a great article I had no idea it could be that easy! I’ve always used a 3rd party website to create smaller PDFs for my students.
