Ever written a goal like this one? I have 🙋‍♀️-This is an example of what I call Goal Smashing. Basically picture the Incredible Hulk shoving as many objectives as possible into one goal....😬 Goals written like this do nothing but set the student and clinician up for failure. They are unrealistic and difficult/cumbersome to track.-This goal asks for correct responses for WH-questions, no biggie right? WRONG! This goal is really supposed to be 5 separate objectives. If we take a closer look, there are 5 types of WH-questions, so per this goal you need to target and track responses for each question type. What if you student does great with WHO, WHAT, WHERE but WHEN and WHY are just not coming as easily. So guess what, annual review time comes around this student has failed to meet the goal, despite their other successes.-I could go on and on about this but that is a post for another time.
