I have a lot of friends who are working on categories right now so I needed something new to mix it up.  What better way to mix things up then to combine two activities into one!

Slide1

Slide4

This activity is played the same as concentrations, with the pictures facedown on a table. Students take turns trying to match the item to the category or vise versa. There is also a STAR card that acts as a freebie. If they flip over the star card and an item card they can keep the pair if they can state the category for the item. If they flip the STAR card and a category card they can keep the pair if they can stat an item that belongs in it.

Fun Fact:  These cards happen to fit the tiles of the game Cariboo, although the auth has no affiliations with the game maker/designer.

You can download this freebie HERE.
