Virtual Speech Center has added another great app to their list! Sounds at Home is their newest addition and it doesn’t disappoint.  Mama Bear helps kids ( between the ages of 2-6 ) target auditory skills in her cute cottage.  Students are given auditory prompts to follow to earn some cute bears to play a puzzle game.

After student’s have answered ‘X’ amount of questions ( the amount you pre-set in the settings ) correctly they get to put together a puzzle. The amount of correct questions is kept track by cute little bears at the bottom of the screen. The completed picture of the puzzle is shown next to the pieces for students to use as a guide.

Overall

I really liked this app. It is cute, engaging, and offers prompts and targets for a tough area to work on with little ones.   The areas to work on are key auditory skills and the presentation ( using common rooms in the homes ) is great and applicable for kids.  The graphics are engaging and may be a bit distracting for younger kids when they start, but I can see them focusing on the task as they play more.  If you work with Early Childhood, Pre-K, and Kindergarten this would be a great app to have available.

You can download this app for just 6.99 on iTunes.
