Resource Library

Well, having pneumonia is no fun, but being confined to the couch leaves a lot of time to be productive on the computer.  I was able to finally put the finishing touches a few holiday and winter speech activities.

Sadie and the Snowman winter speech activities the speech bubble slp

First up, Sadie and the Snowman: Speech and Language Book Companion.  This is my favorite childhood winter time story.  When I was unpacking boxes after I moved I found my copy and knew I had to make a book companion for it so that I could share it with my students.

Winter Speech Glyphs

Next, Winter Speech Glyphs.   I had a lot of positive feedback on the Halloween and Thanksgiving glyphs, so I had to make one for winter!  This set has glyphs for synonyms, antonyms, categories, and irregular past tense verbs.

Winter Holiday Inferencing

Then, there is Winter and Holiday Inferencing.  This packet has cards to target inferencing with clues and in descriptions.  Students must use clues to identify a holiday or winter item or they must use the clues from a short story to infer what item is on a child’s wish list.

A Stocking Full of Language

A Stocking Full of Language is next.  This packet has activities for basic concepts, following directions, describing, vocabulary, synonyms, antonyms, and categorizing.

Ugly Christmas Sweater Categories1

Finally, my newest FREEBIE, Ugly Christmas Sweater Categories !  Students each a get a sweater mat.  They choose a decoration card that has a category on it.  If they can state at least 3 items in the category on the card they can add the decoration to their sweater. At the end, see who has the craziest sweater!

BONUS! If you can’t decided which activities you want to add to your speech room, fear not! I have all of these activities, including the freebie,  bundled into one Winter and Holiday MEGA Bundle.
