I adore the ” If you give a…” books by Laura Numeroff. Speech Language Pirates has created a book companion full of lots of activities that pair with ‘If You Give a Moose a Muffin”.  This wonderful companion has super cute clip art that pairs with the story. There are a variety of activities that this packet contains: vocabulary cards, a game board, comprehension questions, general WH questions, articulation cards for initial, medial, and final /p/, /b/, /m/, /t/, /d/, /f/, initial sound matching, regular plurals, comparing and contrasting, category sorting, yes/no questions, 3rd person singular, association matching, prepositions, same and different, verbs, and object functions. Can you believe all of these activities.

I like the board game that is included with the packet. This can be used with all the activities which I really like. This means you can target several areas in session and just change the stimulus cards you are using, you do not have to get out a new game.

There is a combination of comprehension and general WH questions. This is a great way to work on answering questions and then level in to using those WH skills to answer comprehension questions.

I love when articulation can be incorporated with literacy. It provides students practice in an applicable setting which is just what they need some times to understand why using their ‘good sounds’ is important.

The verb cards, along with the other activity cards, offer a lot possible uses. You can use them as direct naming tasks, ” What is the girl doing?” to syntax work, ” Tell me a sentence about what the girl is doing. ” I like when materials can be flexible for my needs.
